Michael R. Terry

Michael continues to make his mark in nonprofit, association and government circles as the voice of reason and bastion of integrity in public-private partnerships with almost thirty years of experience in health and human services, public safety, and nonprofit and association leadership. During my tenure with United Ways of Texas, he worked on numerous legislative and collaborative initiatives including 211, early childhood education, financial stability, CHIP and crisis response.
His work with state government included the Texas Department of Public Safety Driver License Division where he served as Deputy Assistant Director for Policy and Business Improvement. Michael became an authority, before the Legislature and with community groups, on license issuance, REAL ID, card design, identity, organ donation, election issues and immigration. It was in this role he was part of the leadership team responsible for increasing operational capacity, leveraging technology, improving the customer experience, efficiency, professionalism and process improvement.
Michael's consultancy strengthens business partners, nonprofits and associations, and prepared partners for legislative sessions and he continues to help entrepreneurs advance their products and services. Recently, Michael guided a large state association through a complex and multi-year strategic planning process.
Michael led the formalization and chaired RAISE Texas (a national innovator across multi-sectors, providing financial support, resources, and technical expertise throughout Texas) and also chaired the Board of Texas Interagency/Interfaith Disaster Relief, volunteered with the Texas Society of Association Executives and served on the Wichita County American Red Cross Board of Directors.
